- Why is Parkview a Seventh-day Adventist hospital?
Seventh-day Adventist Christians have a renowned history of serving communities through healthcare.
Parkview Adventist Medical Center was established in 1959 to operate as part of a worldwide humanitarian mission.
Parkview's founding physicians believed in supporting and strengthening the Adventist philosophy of healthcare, which is to provide patients with whole-person healing. Today, Parkview is the only not-for-profit Protestant healthcare provider in Maine.
Around the world, the Adventist Church operates hundreds of healthcare facilities dedicated to helping people achieve wholeness of mind, body, and spirit. This approach influences many of our personal lifestyle choices and continues to shape Parkview's philosophy of healthcare.
Parkview's "Prayer-Positive" environment extends the healing ministry of Christ to every patient. Our mission depends not only on our commitment to Christian ideals but on our efforts to provide nothing less than extraordinary compassionate care.

- What is Parkview's relationship with CMMC?
Parkview plans to join the Central Maine Medical Family. At present, the affiliation affords Parkview patients access to services such as pain management and sports medicine that the community otherwise did not provide.
Your patient medical information remains consistent, your insurance will not change, and you can be attended by your same physician in the same office as you have been.
As always, you can count on Parkview's compassionate medical attention, but with a bonus of direct and complete access to big-city expertise. Our patients will see nothing different in the practices.
Why the change?
For many years, Parkview has collaborated with CMMC physicians to help provide extraordinary Emergency Department services to the Brunswick community. Parkview patients receive the best.
As this ongoing partnership has evolved, CMMC's trauma-experienced physicians continue to serve Parkview patients 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
As a natural result of Parkview's long-standing affiliation with the Central Maine Medical Family in Lewiston, one of Maine's most prominent cardiac care and trauma centers, Parkview's Board of Directors elected to join the Central Maine Medical Family to permit direct access to a greater number of colleagues and specialties, and to be part of a larger organization. This allows for greater efficiency and more resources for our patients.
Consider the two-way benefit of this collaboration. Parkview can help people better, while increasing its buying power and referral strengths. CMMC loves Parkview's philosophy of health and the small-town attention we give our patients.
We are delighted to call Central Maine Medical our family.
Parkview: Our Best Years Lie Ahead.
