Volunteer Volunteer at Parkview
Volunteers have been a vital part of Parkview since our doors opened in 1959. Volunteers want to give of themselves to help others. We LOVE our volunteers, and consider them important members of the Parkview family!
Why become a volunteer?
As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping us serve the healthcare needs of the community. Volunteering allows you to be of service to your community, neighbors and friends. You will meet new people, develop skills and interests, and possibly explore career opportunities.
Volunteer benefits include: Free flu shots when available, skill development, a complimentary meal in our cafeteria during any four-hour volunteer shift, an annual recognition luncheon, and a warm welcome at hospital functions.
Who benefits from volunteer efforts?
Our Patients—The care and enthusiasm you bring to your volunteer work makes a patient’s hospital stay more pleasant.
Our Staff—Our health care workers are grateful for the invaluable support of volunteers, which helps our employees continue to provide exceptional patient care and services.
Our Community—Excellent health care services are a local asset.
What do volunteers do?
They help out in various areas around the hospital and in different capacities. In the Lab, volunteers may be asked to ‘run’ specimens from the emergency room to the lab. In Diagnostic Imaging, volunteers may be asked to transport a patient from the emergency room to get an x-ray or ct scan. Volunteers also work in our Acute Care Unit (day surgery) helping when the patients come out of surgery. In the Pharmacy, volunteers assist our Pharmacist and the staff. The Mailroom is volunteer central. We really can’t do anything around Parkview without mail delivery (and pickup)!
Opportunities may include:

Work with Elderly in the Parkview Elder Life Program PELP
